Sacred Boundaries: Can You Have Intercourse During Ramadan?, Ramadan, Beliefs, Pillar of Islam, Holy Month

Exploring Religious Guidelines and Cultural Perspectives on Sexual Relations in the Holy Month” Ramadan is a month of fasting every day between sunset to sunrise, with meals between. There is five prayers throughout the day.

The process of fasting during Ramadan includes more than simply abstaining from alcohol or food items, but also as avoiding any routine actions to put your mind and body prayers, spiritual studies and performing good deeds to the benefit of others.

Many worshippers typically prepare to celebrate Ramadan by fasting for the month before and attempt to lead an active and healthy lifestyle as well as enhancing their worship and prayer. There are plenty of concerns about what is permissible for them to conduct during Ramadan.

Sexual activities are believed to be illegal during Ramadan but what exactly is meant by this? Are kissing, hugging and cuddling a part of that? What is the best method to marry during this time in the Islamic calendar? Here we take an overview of Ramadan rules regarding intimate relationships and intimate relationships.

Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) told of a man who appeared in front of Allah’s Messenger (salallahu “alaihi Wasallam”) and proclaimed: “I am destroyed O Messenger of Allah!” The Messenger of Allah (salallahu “alaihi wasallam”) requested “And What has caused you to be destroyed?”

He replied: “I had a sexual affair with my wife when I was the fasting period of Ramadan.” A Messenger (salallahu alaihi wasallam) asked: “Are you able to free slaves?” He answered: “No.” “The messenger (salallahu Allahu ‘alaihi wa’lam) was asked “Are your able to endure 2 months fast?” He answered: “No.” “The Messenger” (salallahu Allahu alaihi Wasallam) asked “Can you find enough food to supply sixty people?” He responded: “No.” The man was sitting.

A short while after, the messager (salallahu salaihi wa’alam) was given a large bags of dates. He sat down with the man and said: “Go and give this to charities.” The man responded: “And is there anyone who is less fortunate than we are?

There’s not a family that lives in the area between 2 plains of lava that lie in Madinah who is more worthy of this than we are. .” Then, he told those who he gathered around him: “Go and feed your family using the lavas. ”

This is known as hashtah. It is a clear proof that sexual activities break the fast and is an violation for anyone who indulges in it during in the course of Ramadan during the daytime.

If a person commits the sin of sexual relations, he breaks his fast and must present a repentance offering. The person who committed the crime came before the Messenger (salallahu alaihi wasallam) in fear of his own destruction and was pleasantly surprised to see his Messenger (salallahu alaihi wasallam) to be tolerant and soft. This hashtah sheds light on a variety of aspects:

1. Sexual activity during fasting negates the need to observe the rules of This Qur’an Sunnah as well as the the consensus (ijma’).

2. It is essential to seek out experts to find fatawa because those with no expertise are advised to look for experts.

3. The perfect and refined behavior by the Prophet (salallahu “alaihi Wasallam”) and his kind attitude towards those who seek direction, as well as his determination to rectify their errors. The prophet (salallahu the alaihi Wasallam) did not show anger at the person who was causing trouble nor did he show brutality. Instead, he took note of his question and offered him step-by-step instructions to solve the offense.

4. It was a hadith which affirms that Kaffarah (expiation) is required for sexual relations during fasting. It’s because:

(i) Give the slave away, and ensure it’s an honest and trustworthy slave. (ii) When the person is unable find a slave who believes in freedom then he will have to be on a fast for two months consecutively. (iii) If that he is unable to do that, he must feed 60 people by giving them half (iii) of (1.2kg) per. (1.2kg) per.

5. The kaffarah (expiation) is the process described within the holy hadith. It is not permitted to change the order prescribed because it is not dependent on the individual’s preference.

6. It is a hadith which affirms that when a person is unable to pay the expense in any way, it is deemed waived as prophets (salallahu alaihi wasallam) did not force people to contribute more. Certain scholars are of the opinion that the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasallam) made the payment on his behalf, by offering the assistance of a huge number of dates. This is the reason for removing the obligation. [2]

7. It is also possible that the kaffarah to be performed by anyone other than the one who issued it. to be a kaffarah which is performed by anyone except the person who has to perform it with the consent and permission by the one who issued the kaffarah. In this case, it was the case that prophet (salallahu salaihi wa wasallam) was able of releasing his Kaffarah and handed it over an individual who committed the offense due to his indigence and was deserved. This is a practice that is permitted.

8. The exorcism can only be paid by those who deliberately does the wrong. If one is unaware of the rules, or was oblivious to the rules, his fast wasn’t affected and there’s no exorcism due to the declaration of Allah (the supreme):

rabaWna la tuw’akhidhna in naWsiyna ‘aw ‘akhTa’na

“Our Lord! Don’t punish us if we forget or commit mistakes .” 33 The Messenger (salallahu alaihi wasallam) declared: “Allah has overlooked the mistakes I’ve made in my unintentional manner through my Ummah and the things that they don’t recall and the mistakes they are required to do. ” [44.

The person mentioned in the hadith was aware of the rules concerning the prohibition of intimate contact while fasting which is why he declared: “I am destroyed” which means that he did not use the excuse of lack of memory or inexperience. And Allah knows best.
