In The Shade of The Qur’an Vol.11 (An-Nahl, Ta-Ha has more to it than just another commentary. However, it’s not too far-reaching or extreme to be considered a new interpretation. It’s a sincere, honest and sober examination of man’s current achievements and problems in light of the Qur’an’s message. It is an attempt to vigorously explore its rich wisdom and expand its invaluable guidance in the interest of a more ‘sophisticated’ but highly perplexed society.

This work, Sayyid Qutb’s most extensive and profound, covers the entire Qur’an text. It was completed over 15 years. Most of it was spent in Egyptian prisons during the 1950s and 60s. It contains Sayyid Qutb’s insights, highly regarded intellectual vigor and widely-acclaimed literary prowess.

In The Shade of The Qur’an Vol.11 (An-Nahl, Ta-Ha has been widely recognized as an outstanding contribution in Islamic thought and scholarship to which scholars and students, as well as current Islamic revivalist movements around the globe, owe a lot. It is now available in English and will continue to inspire and educate millions more. It will be an indispensable reference work for understanding contemporary Islamic thought.

An Excerpt from The Book

“It might be that your Lord will have mercy upon you.” (Surah Al-‘Isra Verse 8) But, if the Jews return to spreading corruption on the earth, then the law is bound to apply and punishment will be again inflicted. “But if [you revert] [to your old methods], we will revert [to punishing] you.” (Surah Al’Isra Verse 8) It was clear that they did revert back to corrupt ways, and God sent Muslims against them to drive them out of Arabia.

They repeated the same thing again until they were humiliated in the 20th century by lying. Now we see how they have reverted back to corruption and tyranny in the state Israel, which employs very cruel tactics against Arabs, the land’s owners. God will send His servants against them to make sure they are punished for their corruption, in fulfillment of His firm warning. This is in line with His law that never fails. This will happen if we wait.
