Before You Sleep: Dua For Bad Dreams

Before You Sleep: Dua for Bad Dreams – For many people, dreams are a signal from Allah and can be interpreted as a message from one’s subconscious or Allah Almighty. People view dreams as messages that Allah Almighty sends to His humanbeing.. Good dreams are from Allah, and bad dreams are from the devil.

When experiencing either a positive or negative dream people should pray for safety and well-being yet bad dreams call for seeking protection from Allah against evil.

People should dedicate their complete faith to Allah for guidance rather than seeking the meaning of false dream visions that would undermine their beliefs.

Summary of a bad dream:

1. Spit on your left 3 times.
2. Seek refuge from Allah
3. Do not relate or tell it to anyone.
4. Turn and sleep on the opposite side.
5. Get up and pray or any Dua if you so desire.

Our nighttimes include both good dreams and bad nightmares. Muslim teachings demonstrate appropriate behavior and complimentary statements for dealing with nightmares.

The Prophet (PBUH) says:

“A good dream is from The Allah Almighty and a Bad Dreams is from the devil. He who sees something in a dream that he dislikes or bad, should blow thrice on his left, must seek Allah’s Refuge from the evil of the devil (by saying: A’udhu billahi minash-shaitanir rajim). Then it will not harm him” [al-Bukhari and Muslim].
