On Friday and Eid, the Imam should give the first khutbah, then take a brief break before delivering the second. This is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The Prophet (peace be upon him) would sit between two khutbahs, according to Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). (Al-Bukhari)
