Tahajjud Dua – Prophetic Supplications For Night Prayer

Tahajjud Dua The prayer is the holy ritual known as Tahajjud prayer that is supplemented with beautiful supplications (duas) taught by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. When these potent prayers are muttered in the calm hours of the night they have a deep spiritual meaning and blessings.

What is Tahajjud?

Tahajjud as an Arabic word which is translated as hajada meaning to stay up in the night is a voluntary night prayer, which is practiced by Muslims. It is a non obligatory (nafl) prayer that one performs at night between the evening prayer (Isha) and morning prayer (Fajr). Tahajjud is voluntary and full of devotion in which it is practiced.

The Grand Prophetic Tahajjud Dua

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ، وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ، وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ، وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ، وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ، وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، أَنْتَ إِلَهِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ.

Tahajjud Dua English Transliteration:

Allahumma lakal-hamdu, anta qayyimus-samāwāti wal-ard wa man fīhinna,
wa lakal-hamdu, laka mulkus-samāwāti wal-ard wa man fīhinna,
wa lakal-hamdu, anta nūrus-samāwāti wal-ard wa man fīhinna,
wa lakal-hamdu, anta al-haqq, wa wa‘duka al-haqq, wa liqā’uka haqq,
wa qawluka haqq, wal-jannatu haqq, wan-nāru haqq, wan-nabiyyūna haqq,
wa Muhammadun ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam haqq, was-sā‘atu haqq.
Allahumma laka aslamtu, wabika āmantu, wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu, wa ilayka anabtu,
wabika khāṣamtu, wa ilayka ḥākamtu, faghfir lī mā qaddamtu, wa mā akhkhartu,
wa mā asrartu, wa mā a‘lamtu, anta ilāhī, lā ilāha illā anta.

Urdu Translation:

اے اللہ! سب تعریف تیرے ہی لیے ہے، تو ہی آسمانوں اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان میں ہے اس کا سنبھالنے والا ہے۔
اور سب تعریف تیرے ہی لیے ہے، تیرے ہی لیے آسمانوں اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان میں ہے کی بادشاہی ہے۔
اور سب تعریف تیرے ہی لیے ہے، تو ہی آسمانوں اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان میں ہے کا نور ہے۔
اور سب تعریف تیرے ہی لیے ہے، تو ہی حق ہے، تیرا وعدہ حق ہے، تجھ سے ملاقات حق ہے، تیرا فرمان حق ہے،
جنت حق ہے، جہنم حق ہے، نبی حق ہیں، محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حق ہیں، اور قیامت حق ہے۔
اے اللہ! میں نے تیرے آگے سر جھکا دیا، تجھ پر ایمان لایا، تجھ پر ہی بھروسہ کیا، تیری طرف رجوع کیا،
تیرے واسطے جھگڑا کیا، اور تیرے پاس فیصلہ لے گیا۔ پس مجھے بخش دے جو میں نے پہلے کیا اور جو بعد میں کیا،
جو میں نے چھپ کر کیا اور جو ظاہر کیا۔ تو ہی میرا معبود ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔
