Supporting Syrian Refugees Communities – A Call to Action for Spreading Joy Through Nutritious Dates” After 11 years, Syria remains the world’s most populated refugee crisis. There are more than 6.6 million Syrians were forced to leave their country in the last year, and 6.7 million are still internally forced to leave.
The majority of them – around 5.5 million refugees have sought refuge in neighboring countries, primarily located in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt.
Our Project
Makkah Inc. and QuranMualim are working to provide Syrian refugees with healthy dates and other food items.
Makkah Inc. is one of the biggest importers and distributors of dates in Europe and the USA. The company’s date farm and packing house are in the southern part of Libya and Algeria.
QuranMualim is among the largest and oldest online Muslim communities, which has been in operation since. QuranMualim is managed through Human Assistance & Development International, which is incorporated with the 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation since 2005
Hadith on the Offering of Iftar for the Fasting
“من فطر صائماً كان له مثل أجره غير أنه لا ينقص من أجر الصائم شيئاً”
Iftar is a meal offered for a person who is fasting who gets the same reward as the fasting person and does not forfeit the rewards [earned by the person who has been fasting.
Imagine the rewards you can earn by offering Iftar to those forced to observe a fast because of a lack of food.
في حديث مسلم عَنْ عَائِشَةَ -رضي الله عنها- قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ- صلى الله عنه وسلم : يَا عَائِشَةُ بَيْتٌ لَا تَمْرَ فِيهِ جِيَاعٌ أَهْلُهُ، قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا.
In a Hadith told by Muslim Prophet Mohamed, he spoke to Ayesha, his wife Ayesha: “A house that doesn’t have dates has people who are hungry .” He repeated this a couple of times.
