The following article examines Dua for Car Journey. How can there exist a supplication for car or vehicle travel? During the period when God sent His Messages to humanity and that days there were not cars or Vehicles exist.

The supplication was said moments before riding any mount at the beginning of the journey. Today people use their own vehicles while saying a prayer for security similar to how Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did during his time.

Few Dua’s for Traveling

During a plane trip you start your journey but realize you cannot locate your dua booklet for travel. The availability of special prayers remains unavailable during our most urgent times. The most effective solution according to our belief is memorizing duas. Here are the folloing Dua For Car Journey.

Transliteration:
Subḥāna alladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn * wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn.

Urdu Translation:
پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے ہمارے لیے اسے تابع کر دیا، حالانکہ ہم اسے قابو میں لانے والے نہ تھے * اور بے شک ہم اپنے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں۔

There’s also the following du’a from the Quran:

Transliteration:
Bismillāhi majrāhā wa mursāhā, inna rabbī la-ghafūrun raḥīm.

Urdu Translation:
اللہ کے نام سے ہے اس کا چلنا اور ٹھہرنا، بے شک میرا رب بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے۔

Transliteration:
Rabbī adkhilnī mudkhala ṣidqin wa akhrijnī mukhraja ṣidqin, waj‘al lī min ladunka sulṭānan naṣīrā.

Urdu Translation:
اے میرے رب! مجھے سچائی کے ساتھ داخل فرما اور سچائی کے ساتھ باہر نکال، اور مجھے اپنی طرف سے مددگار طاقت عطا فرما۔

For safe travelling

Transliteration:
Allāhumma hawwin ʿalaynā safaranā hādhā waṭwi ʿannā buʿdah, Allāhumma anta aṣ-ṣāḥibu fī as-safar, wal-khalīfatu fī al-ahl, Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min waʿthāʾi as-safar, wa kaʾābati al-manẓar, wa sūʾi al-munqalabi fī al-māli wal-ahl.

Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! ہمارے اس سفر کو ہمارے لیے آسان بنا دے اور اس کی دوری کو ہم سے سمیٹ دے۔
اے اللہ! تو ہی سفر میں ساتھی ہے اور اہلِ خانہ میں نگہبان ہے۔
اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں سفر کی مشقت، برے مناظر اور مال و اہل میں برے انجام سے۔

Is a Traveler’s Dua Accepted?

Dua For Car Journey- In another instance, the Prophet Muhammad SAW says three dua for travelling; Sunan Al-Tirmizi Book 7

Transliteration:
ʿAn Abī Hurayrah (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) qāl: Qāla Rasūlullāh ﷺ:
“Thalāthu daʿawātin mustajābāt, lā shakka fīhinna: daʿwatu al-maẓlūm, wa daʿwatu as-sāfir, wa daʿwatu al-wālidi ʿalā waladih.”

Urdu Translation:
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا“تین دعائیں ایسی ہیں جو ضرور قبول ہوتی ہیں، ان میں کوئی شک نہیں مظلوم کی دعا، مسافر کی دعا، اور والد کی اپنے بیٹے کے خلاف دعا۔ ::

In fact, when we travel, we should ask Allah to:

Protect us from the hardships of traveling
Keep us safe from unhappy experiences
Guard our property and family from harm
Forgive us and have mercy on us
