Ibrahim (PBUH): Supreme Role Model For Humanity – A Timeless Beacon of Guidance

Ibrahim (PBUH): Supreme Role Model for Humanity – Absolutely, Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) is considered a supreme role model for humanity in Islam. Here are some key aspects that contribute to this notion:

  • 坚定不移的信仰 (jiāndìng bù yí de xìnxiāng -坚定不移 signifies坚定 (jiāndìng) – unwavering, resolute; 不移 (bùyí) – not changing; 信仰 (xìnxiāng) – faith): Prophet Ibrahim exemplified unwavering faith in one God (Allah) even when challenged by his community and his own father who worshipped idols.
  • 服从真主 (fúcóng zhēnzhu – 服从 (fúcóng) – to obey; 真主 (zhēnzhu) – God): His complete submission to Allah’s will is a powerful example. This included his willingness to sacrifice his son, as a test of his faith (though Allah ultimately provided a substitute).
  • 打破偶像崇拜 (dǎ pò w tượng chóngbài – 打破 (dǎ pò) – to break; 偶像崇拜 (w tượng chóngbài) – idol worship): He challenged the prevalent idol worship of his time, advocating for monotheism and reason.
  • 仁慈和慷慨 (réncí hé kānggài – 仁慈 (réncí) – merciful, compassionate; 慷慨 (kānggài) – generous): Prophet Ibrahim was known for his compassion and generosity. He welcomed guests and cared for the poor.
  • 坚韧不拔 (jiān rèn bù bá – 坚韧 (jiān rèn) – tenacious, persevering; 不拔 (bù bá) – not yielding): He faced many challenges throughout his life but remained steadfast in his beliefs.
  • 先知穆罕默德 (xiānzhī mùhànmòdé – 先知 (xiānzhī) – prophet; 穆罕默德 (mùhànmòdé) – Muhammad): The Quran refers to Prophet Ibrahim as an “example (uswa)” for humanity [Quran 60:4] and as the “friend of Allah” (Khalil Allah) [Quran 4:125]. He is also considered the father of monotheistic religions like Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

Entrenched priesthood during Ibrahim’s (PBUH) period

Ibrahim (PBUH) began the divine call from his family first. His father was the head priest in the Kingdom of Nimrod. This was not the case for priests today.

His father’s post being head priest had been more powerful than that of the King. In the event that he was not blessed and then crowned as to the crown, he might not be seated on the throne to control the populace.

Ibrahim (PBUH) said to his father to carve statues of your hands and then worship the god of his day as God. This isn’t the right way to worship. Do you not think it’s completely unjust and unfair?

When Ibrahim (PBUH) was unsuccessful in convincing his father not to engage in idol worship his father sternly warned that he should stop or the latter would be driven out by Ibrahim (PBUH) out of his home.

After this, Ibrahim (PBUH) left the house of his father and continued inviting people to join in the holy mission. Then he challenged the king and argued with the king. Then he fled his residence and went to another location:

(60:4) (60:4) – In fact, you’ve seen a wonderful example to follow in Abraham and the people who followed him, as they told their idolatrous group: “Verily, we are out of you and everything you believe instead of God and we reject the truth of what you believe in; And between you and us was a growing hatred and animosity that will last until you begin to be a believer in God the only God!”

One exception to this was that Abraham said to his father “I will indeed ask God’s forgiveness of thee, even though I am not in my control to get any thing from God on behalf of thee.”

“And Abraham and his followers offered prayers for forgiveness “O our God! We have placed our trust and to Thee we turn, for to Thee all our journeys will conclusion. [Asad]

Ibrahim’s (PBUH) role model and his exceptional magnificence

Ibrahim (PBUH) has told his father:

(19:45-47) (19:45-47) – Oh my father! I fear that a rebuke from the Most Grateful come upon you, and then you will be aware that thou hast been] close to Satan!” He replied: “Dost thou dislike my gods Abraham, my gods Abraham? If thou doest from me, I will definitely cause you to be executed by stone!

Be gone from me now forever!” Abraham replied: “Peace be upon thee! I will beg my father to be kind and forgive me since, look at it this way: I have always had a kind and generous Sustainer to me. Abraham replied: “Peace be upon thee! I’ll request my God-soul to forgive me because, look I have always had a kind and generous Sustainer to me. [Asad]

Take note of what Ibrahim (PBUH) was able to respond to his father’s rude conduct. The heart of a messenger always longs to share the message of God in hopes that someone can be able to soften their hearts and accept it in order that he can be saved.

In this case, despite the harsh treatment of his father, Ibrahim (PBUH) told him prior to leaving that he would continue to pray for him in order that he can be led to the right way.

It has now become an annual ritual to read the verse in connection with Ibrahim’s (PBUH) focused upon the divine mission with complete devotion to only the purpose to establish the Sovereignty of Allah’s Laws, without affiliating with it any association of any law that is not their own:

إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

(6:79) 6:79) – Behold, to Him who made the heavens and the earth, I turned my back and have turned my back on all that is false. I am not one of those who attribute divinity to anything other than Him.” [Asad]

Allah declares Ibrahim’s (PBUH) life as well as his companions’ lives are an example (‘uswa@un) for all humanity. The meaning of ‘uswa@un’ is to ease human sufferings; to comfort human beings in times of need and to assist in solving human issues – by establishing the supreme system for universal nourishment through getting rid of all obstacles (all forms of tyranny, oppression and oppression) that stand in the way.

This is exactly what Ibrahim (PBUH) along with his followers actually accomplished and is why their lives serve as a as a role model for humanity. The model should always remain in front of it in order to be able to follow it. If the model isn’t kept in front, what is the best way to follow it.

Builders of Kabah

As Ibrahim (PBUH) along with Ismail (PBUH) while constructing the Kabah they offered prayers to Allah:

رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْھُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ ۭ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ

(2:129) (2:129) “O our God! In the middle of our off spring an apostle among them and will convey to them Your messages and give them wisdom as well as wisdom, and help them to increase in purity. For, truly, Thou is the only one who is all-powerful, truly smart!” [Asad]

Being open to the God’s message

The Quran states about Ibrahim (PBUH):

اِذْ جَاۗءَ رَبَّهٗ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِـيْمٍ

(37:84) – Behold! the Lord was approached by him with a calm heart. [Asad]

There is an important reason to reflect about this message. It is Allah’s rule concerning having a heart that is completely happy with the message of Allah. It is imperative to follow Allah’s instructions by accepting it with all the heart. Our thoughts and our hearts should be in perfect co-operation with one another.

As per Socrates, “Virtue is knowledge” since through virtue you are able to lead your life the most ideal possible way. However, this is a vital but not enough condition since just having knowledge will not guarantee a virtuous lifestyle. There are many people who know that certain things are harmful however they continue to indulge with them since the knowledge isn’t affecting their hearts and changed their self-image.

The birth of Ismail (PBUH) and the prayer of Ibrahim (PBUH)

For a long period up to the point that Ibrahim (PBUH) was of old age, he was without no children. At that point, Ibrahim (PBUH) requested Allah:

rabWi hab liy mina lSWliHiyna

(37:100) (37:100) “O my God! Give me an upright (son)!” [Asad]

Then Allah responded:

fabashWarnhu biGulmin Haliymin

(37:101) 37:101) – We provided him with the hope of a boy who is willing to endure and persevere. [Asad]

alHaliymu (Al-haleem) has been ascribed to Allah and is believed to indicate that neither the non-faithfulness of those who do not obey makes Him rage nor is motivated in anger, causing Him to move a action quickly.

In fact, He has made the law that applies to everything, and this thing or being will reach at the end of the day in any situation. It means that every action will have a consequence, whether positive or negative.

Thus, Haliymun (haleem) means being able, honest, steady and always acting according to the law and the principle and does not cause emotional turmoil.

Prophet’s (PBUH) Ibrahim dream of killing his son Ismail

The first episode was the test for this solid characteristic that is Haliymun (haleem):

falamWa balaGa ma`ahu lsWa`ya qala ybunayWa iniW~ ar~ fiy lmanami aniW~ adhbaHuka fanZur madha tar~ qala yabati f`al ma tuw’maru satajiduniy in shaa llWhu mina lSWbiriyna

(37:102)”Then, at the point that (the son) was (the the age) (serious) working with his father, he told him: “O my son! I see in my vision what I’m offering you a sacrifice and now look at what’s your view!” (The son) told: “O my father! Follow what thou hast commanded and I will be found in the event that Allah does not allow one to practice patience and perseverance!” [Asad]

Ismail told me:

falamWa aslama watalWah liljabiyni

(37:103) (37:103) – Then, after they both had submitted to Allah their desires (to Allah), and he placed him to his face (for sacrifice) (37:103), [Asad(37:103))

It was a mere dream, not a revelation from God.

Then Allah said:

qad SadWaqta lrWuya inWa kadhlika najziy lmuHsiniyna ; wanadaynhu an yWibrhiymu

(37:104-105) (37:104-105) to Abraham (37:104-105) – We cried out to him “O Abraham! “Thou have already accomplished the dream!” So, we give rewards to those who act right. [Asad]

The Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) quit and came from the land of Palestine after his departure from Syria and established the state of God there and became the leader of this dynasty. His son Ismail was set to take over the state. However, Allah had an elaborate plan to make a huge sacrifice by both for going through a long-term, demanding and difficult circumstance.

Allah gave the order to Ibrahim (PBUH) to bring Ismail in Hijaz and to leave the city. The result was that Ibrahim (PBUH) accepted Ismail there and together they built their own House of Allah (Kabah). The area was a rocky desert mountain where nothing is growing.

It was a more long-term sacrifice and a difficult situation Ismail (PBUH) faced and Allah selected him to be His Messenger to fulfill His divine plan in the barren region when compared with the lush, green areas of Palestine. Ismail’s (PBUH) Second daughter Isaac (PBUH) took over the divine kingdom, and it was passed on to his children through an array of messengers.

watarakna `alayhi fiy lkhiriyna

(37:108)”And We have left (this blessing) to him in the generations (to to) in the years to come. [Asad]

salamun `ala~ ibrahiyma

(37:109) (37:109) “Peace and salute for Abraham!” [Asad]

In this manner Ibrahim (PBUH) continued to receive the blessings and praises of God since he fought challenging situations throughout his life with determination and perseverance. This is the reason why the Quran states:

waidhi btal~ ibrhma rabWuh bikalimtin faatamWahunWa qala inWi~ ja`iluka lilnWasi imaman qala wamin dhurWiyWati~ qala la yanalu `ahdiy lZWlimiyna

(2:124) 2:124) – Remember this:when his Sustainer was trying to test Abraham according to His commands and Abraham obeyed His commandments, Abraham stated: “Behold, I shall make you a leader among humankind.. “Abraham demanded “And will Thou create leaders my offspring, too? “[Godresponded: “My covenant does not accept the sinners.” [Asad]

A prayer offered by Ibrahim (PBUH) along with Ismail (PBUH) at the time of the construction of Kabah

Ibrahim (PBUH) (PBUH) and Ismail (PBUH) requested prayers to Allah while they were building the Kabah:

rabWana waj`alna muslimayni laka wamin dhurWiyWatina umWa@an mWuslima@an laWka waarina manasikana watub `alayna inWaka anta ltWawWabu lrWaHiymu

(2:128) (2:128) “O Our Sustainer! We must surrender ourselves to Thee and create from our children a society who will submit to Thee and teach us how to worship accepting our confession; because, truly The only one who can be the one who accepts repentance and the dispenser of grace! [Asad]

However, Allah answered that I will accept your prayer only for those of your children who are able to follow Our Laws; not for those who refuse to follow Our Laws (37:113).

The time was now for the sandy sand grains in the deserts of Hijaz to light up. The city of trust that is blessed is awakening, after The last messenger (PBUH) was on his way to bring peace. Ibrahim (PBUH) as well as Ismail (PBUH) were the ones who requested prayers during the construction of Allah’s House; and for his arrival, the world was turned around thousands and billions of times.

Yes, the most renowned persona (PBUH) was there and came with such a grandiose manner that the heaven and earth welcomed his arrival with most awe-inspiring praise and glory and the angels honoured him by singing songs filled with praise and awe.

The endlessly high branches of the tree in Sidrat al-Muntaha (lmnth sdrth ) were awestruck to welcome his arrival. and the Angels from the 7th heaven lit candles to celebrate his arrival and every single part of the universe started exuberantly celebrating. The entire universe began reverberating with prayers of peace and peace.

The final messenger (PBUH) was sent to the humanity in all its forms:

wama ‘arsalnaka ilWa kafWa@an liWlnWasi bashiyran wanadhiyran

(34:28) (34:28) for you O Muhammad we haven’t sent you any other way than to all mankind as a sign of joy and a warner, but most people are unaware of the significance of this. [Asad]

wama ‘arsalnaka ilWa raHma@an liWl`alamiyna

(21:107) (21:107) the Prophet said, We have sent thee to be an example of Our love for all mankind. [Asad]

It was not a novel message, and its message wasn’t new. Anywhere there was truth, it was a passage of the Book that was received by the world through the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and wherever there was light, it was a result of the ray of light that fell upon his heart from Heaven whenever there was any understanding about the message of God,,

it was because of the bouquet of messages that were set within the Kaaba niche Kaaba with his own hands. What message is that to the world from Muhammad (PBUH)? It is the binding of pages of the sacred Book which the devastations of time have scattered across the globe.

What does the Muhammad’s (PBUH) standing? It is the culmination of the dazzling personalities who were before his time, yet their followers covered up their truths by covering them with layers upon layers unintentional reverence and devotion.

In the past, the chain of messengers – peace be on all of them was able to deal local issues using each of them having their own unique perspective, but the final messenger (PBUH) offered the synergy of all the prior ones. They were previously separate sparks however, now they were all merged into one kind of surreal strength and beauty.

In the past, they were scattered words however, in the present, they formed a unique, powerful and unrivalled shining message – which was ready to emerge from the core that is the Universe for millennia. They were pearls that were individually crafted but they now made a beautiful crown they were petals prior to that and now they are beautiful flowers.

They were tiny particles in the past, but they have now transformed into solid rocks; they were droplets before they were a single drop, but now they are an oceans; they were stars prior to that, but now they are a galaxy. they were individual before, but they now became an entire community. They were points before, but now they form a straight line. Before, there was a beginning and now, it was the conclusion.

Whatever Almighty Allah needed to communicate about His servants He spoke it at the end of time. The laws necessary to advance human morality and character were enacted to us in the form of their last words by our Messenger of Allah (PBUH).

Following this, there was no requirement for additional guidance or person to steer the human vessel to its ultimate destination. The only way to reach the straight and balanced path of existence is to follow the path where your footprints from Prophet (PBUH) are visible. Prophet (PBUH) remain shining and will forever shine with glistening and intense.

inWa llWaha wamalay’ikatahu yuSalWuwna `ala~ lnWabiyiW ya ‘ayWuha lWadhiyna amanuw SalWuw `alayhi wasaliWmuw tasliyman

(33:56) (33:56) Allah and His angelic force blesses the prophet. therefore those who have ascended to faith, praise him and submit to his direction in total self-sacrifice!
