قٓ ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ	Qāf. Wa-alqurʾānu al-majīd.	Qaf. By the Quran of Glory.
بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ	Bal ʿajibū ʾan jāʾahum mundhirun minhum faqāla al-kāfirūn hādhā shayʾun ʿajīb.	Rather, they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. So the disbelievers say, “This is an amazing thing.”
أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ	ʾAʾidhā mitnā wa-kunnā turāban dhālika rajʿun baʿīd.	Is it that when we have died and become dust, we will indeed be brought back? That is a far return.
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ	Qad ʿalimnā mā tanuqqsu al-ʾarḍu minhum wa-ʿindanā kitābun ḥafīẓ.	We have already known how much of them the earth diminishes. And with Us is a retaining record.
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ	Bal kadhdhabū bil-ḥaqqi lammā jāʾahum fahum fī ʾamrin marīj.	Rather, they have denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused state.
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ	Afalamyanzurū ilā as-samāʾi fawqahum kayfa banaynāhā wa-zayyannāhā wa-mā lahā min furūj.	Then do they not look at the sky above them – how We constructed it and adorned it and there are no breaks in it?
وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ	Wa-al-ʾarḍa madadnāhā wa-alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa-anbaatnā fīhā min kulli zawjin bahīj.	And the earth – We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein every beautiful kind of growth,
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ	Tabṣiratan wa-dhikrā li-kulli ʿabdin munīb.	As provision and remembrance for every servant who turns in repentance.
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُّبَارَكًا فَأَنبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ	Wa-nazzalnā min as-samāʾi māʾan mubārakan faʾanbaatnā bihi janātin wa-ḥabba al-ḥaṣīd.	And We sent down blessed rain from the sky, whereby We made grow gardens and grain for harvest,
وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ	Wa-an-nakhla bāsiqātin lahā ṭalʿun naḍīd.	And tall palm trees with clustered dates,
رِزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ	Rizqan lil-ʿibād wa-aḥyaynā bihi baldatan maytā kadhālika al-khurūj.	As provision for the servants, and We revived thereby a dead land. Thus is the emergence [from the graves].
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ	Kadhdhabat qablahum qawmu Nūḥin wa-aṣḥābu ar-rassi wa-Thamūd.	The people of Noah denied before them, and [the people of] Ar-Rass and Thamud,
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ	Wa-ʿād wa-Firʿawn wa-ikhwānu Lūt.	And ʿAad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot,
وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ وَعِيدِ	Wa-aṣḥābu al-ʾaykati wa-qawmu Tubbaʿ kull kadhdhab ar-rusul faḥaqqa ʿalayhim waʿīd.	Each denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.
أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ	Afaʿayyinā bil-khalqi al-ʾawwal bal hum fī labsin min khalqin jadīd.	Did We fail in the first creation? Rather, they are in confusion about a new creation.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ	Wa-laqad khalaqnā al-insān wa-naʿlamu mā tuwaswisu bihi nafsuh wa-naḥnu aqrabu ʾilayhi min ḥabli al-warīd.	And We have already created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein.
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ	Idh yatalaqqā al-mutalaqiyān ʿan al-yamīn wa-ʿan ash-shimāl qaʿīd.	When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left.
مَا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ	Mā yalfizu min qawlin illā ladayhi raqībun ʿatīd.	Man does not utter any words except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ	Wa-jāʾat sakratu al-mawt bil-ḥaqq dhālika mā kunta minhu taḥīd.	And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ	Wa-nufikha fī aṣ-ṣūr dhālika yawmu al-waʿīd.	And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat.
وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ	Wa-jāʾat kull nafsin maʿahā sāʾiqun wa-shahīd.	And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness.
لَقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ	Laqad kunta fī ghflatin min hādhā fakashafnā ʿanka ghitāʾaka fabaṣaruka al-yawm ḥadīd.	You were certainly unaware of this, but now We have removed from you your cover, and sharp is your sight this Day.
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ	Wa-qāla qarīnuh hādhā mā ladayya ʿatīd.	And his companion will say, “This [record] is what is with me, prepared.”
أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ	Alqiyā fī jahannam kulla kaffārin ʿanīd.	[Allah will say], “Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,
مَّنَاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ	Mannāʿin lil-khayri muʿtadin murīb.	Hinderer of good, aggressor, and doubter,
الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ	Alladhī jaʿala maʿa Allāh ilāhan ākhara faʾalqiyāhu fī al-ʿadhāb ash-shadīd.	Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity. So cast him into the severe punishment.”
قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ	Qāla qarīnuh rabbanā mā ʾatghaytuh wa-lākin kān fī ḍalālin baʿīd.	His companion will say, “Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he was in extreme error.”
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِالْوَعِيدِ	Qāl lā takhtaṣimū ladayya wa-qad qaddamtu ʾilaykum bil-waʿīd.	[Allah] said, “Do not dispute before Me, while I had already given you the warning.
مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ	Mā yubaddalu al-qawl ladayya wa-mā ʾanā biẓallāmin lil-ʿabīd.	The word does not change with Me, and I do not injustice to [My] servants.”
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ	Yawma naqūl li-jahannam hal imtalʾti wa-taqūl hal min mazīd.	The Day when We will say to Hell, “Have you been filled?” and it will say, “Are there any more?”
وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ	Wa-ʾuzlifat al-jannatu lil-muttaqīn ghayra baʿīd.	And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far away.
هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ	Hādhā mā tūʿadūn li-kulli ʾawwābin ḥafīẓ.	This is what you are promised – for every often returning [to Allah] and keeper of His commandments.
مَن خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ	Man khashiya ar-raḥmān bil-ghayb wa-jāʾa biqalbin munīb.	Who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].
ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ	Udhkhlū-hā bis-salām dhālika yawmu al-khulūd.	Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.”
لَهُم فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ	Lahum fīhā mā yashāʾūn wa-ladaynā mazīd.	There will be for them therein all that they wish, and with Us is more.
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ	Wa-kam ʾahlak-nā qablahum min qarnin hum ʾashaddu minhum baṭshan fanaqqu-bū fil-bilād hal min maḥīṣ.	And how many generations before them did We destroy who were greater than them in strength, and they penetrated throughout the lands? Is there any place of escape?
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ	Inna fī dhālika ladhikrā li-man kān lahu qalbun aw alqā as-samʿa wa-huwa shahīd.	Indeed, in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ	Wa-laqad khalaqnā as-samāwāt wa-al-ʾarḍ wa-mā baynahumā fī sittati ʾayyāmin wa-mā massanā min lughūb.	And We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.
فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ	Faṣbir ʿalā mā yaqūlūn wa-sabbih biḥamdi rabbika qabla ṭulūʿ ash-shams wa-qabla al-ghurūb.	So be patient over what they say, and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting.
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ	Wa-min al-layl fasbbiḥ wa-ʾadbāra as-sujūd.	And during the night exalt Him and after [each] prostration.
وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ	Wa-astamiʿ yawma yunādi al-munādi min makānin qarīb.	And listen for the Day when the caller will call out from a place near,
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ	Yawma yasmaʿūn aṣ-ṣayḥata bil-ḥaqq dhālika yawmu al-khurūj.	The Day when they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves].
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ	Inna naḥnu nuḥyī wa-numīt wa-ʾilaynā al-maṣīr.	Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the [final] destination.
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ	Yawma tashaqqaqu al-ʾarḍ ʿanhum sirāʿan dhālika ḥashrun ʿalaynā yasīr.	The Day the earth breaks apart from them, [and] they emerge rapidly. That is a gathering easy for Us to do.
نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ	Naḥnu aʿlam bimā yaqūlūn wa-mā ʾanta ʿalayhim bijabbār fadhakkir bil-qurʾān man yakhāf waʿīd.	We are most knowing of what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant. But remind by the Qur’an whoever fears My threat.
