Arabic (العربية)	Transliteration	English Translation
وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوًا	Wa-al-dhariyati dharwa	By the winds that scatter,
فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا	Fa-al-hamilati wiqra	And those that bear the weight,
فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْرًا	Fa-al-jariyati yusra	And those that flow with ease,
فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرًا	Fa-al-muqassimati amra	And those that distribute by decree:
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ	Innama tu’adun lasadiq	Indeed, what you are promised is true,
وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ	Wa-inna al-dina lawaqic	And indeed, the Judgment will surely occur.
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِ	Wa-al-sama’i dhat al-hubuk	By the sky with its elegant design,
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُخْتَلِفٍ	Innakum lafī qawlin mukhtalif	Indeed, you are in differing opinions,
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ	Yu’faku anhu man ufik	Averted from it is he who is turned away.
قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُونَ	Qutila al-kharrasun	Cursed are the liars,
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ	Alladhina hum fi ghamra sahun	Those who are in confusion, heedless.
يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ	Yas’alun ayyan yawm al-din	They ask, ‘When is the Day of Judgment?’
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ	Yawm hum ‘ala al-nar yuftan	The Day when they will be tested over the Fire.
ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ	Dhuqu fitnatakum hadha alladhi kuntum bihi tasta’jilun	‘Taste your trial! This is what you were hastening!’
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ	Inna al-muttaqin fi jannat wa’uyun	Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and springs,
آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ	Akhidhin ma ataahum rabbuhum innhum kanu qabla dhalik muhsinin	Taking what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.
كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّن اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ	Kanu qalila min al-layl ma yahjacun	They used to sleep but little of the night,
وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ	Wa-bi-al-ashar hum yastaghfirun	And in the hours of early dawn, they would ask forgiveness,
وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ	Wa-fi amwalihim haqq li-al-sa’il wa-al-mahrum	And in their wealth was a share for the asker and the deprived.
وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ	Wa-fi al-ard ayat li-al-muqinin	And on the earth are signs for those of certain faith,
وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ	Wa-fi anfusikum afa-la tubsirun	And in yourselves. Then will you not see?
وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ	Wa-fi al-sama’ rizkukum wa-ma tu’adun	And in the sky is your provision and that which you are promised.
فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ	Fa-wa-rabbi al-sama’ wa-al-ard innahu lahaqq mithla ma annakum tantiqu	So by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth – like the fact that you yourselves speak.
