The resident from Basra and Baghdad Al-Tanukhi (327-84/939-94) is a relic of earlier Arabic classics, as well as from oral tales told by the author’s tenth century Iraqi peers, who were an array of writers and intellectuals, judges as well as government officials and even family members.
