اسم in Arabic – Definite and indefinite
After studying, Verb, Types of Nouns, Verb Sentences and parts of speech in Arabic,
In Arabic Language 3 parts of speech, they are:
- اِسْمٌ = noun
- فِعْلٌ = verb
- حَرْفٌ = letter or particle
Noun in Arabic–There are two types of nouns in Arabic, they are:
- Definite noun = الْمَعْرِفَةُ
- Indefinite noun = النَّكِرَةُ
In English Language, the noun in Arabic can be indefinite or definite. (indefinite nouns) أَسْمَاءُ النَّكِرَةِ
Indefinite nouns are names given in general things, Names, Places, or Persons. Indefinite noun ends with ( تَنْوِيْنٌ ) Examples:
- كِتَابٌ = a book.
- قَلَمٌ = a pen
أَسْمَاءُ الْمَعْرِفَةِ (Definite nouns)
Definite nouns are proper names given to a certain person, place, Thing, or object. Qaid e Azam, Lahore and Banana- Special notes:
- حَامِدٌ , مُحَمَّدٌ , etc are with تَنْوِيْنٌ , but they are a definite noun.
- أَحْمَدُ , إِبْرَاهِيْمُ , etc are without اَلْ , but they are a definite noun.
