In this article we will learn What is Shab e Miraj? Al-Isra Wal Meraj, also called Shab-e-Meraj, It is the sacred night when Allah’s final messenger, the Holy Prophet (PBUH), was carried to the seven heavens and had the privilege of meeting Allah (SWT), the universe’s creator.
Complete Story of Shab e Miraj
At Allah’s (SWT) command, Hazrat Jibrael (AS) went to the Holy Prophet to accompany him on the flight to the heavens. When Jibrael arrived in front of the Holy Prophet, he was dozing off on his bed. He was awakened by Hazrat Jibrael, who led him to Buraq, a white animal that carried the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to Masjid E Aqsa.
The angel Jibrael halted the Buraq at several sacred locations on his way to Masjid E Aqsa, asking the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to pray there because those locations were the sites of numerous historical occurrences. The tree where Allah (SWT) spoke to Hazrat Musa (AS), the Torah’s revelation on Mount Sinai, Hazrat Musa’s burial, and the birthplace of Hazrat Esa (AS) in Bethlehem were all places where the Holy Prophet (PBUH) prayed.
Every prophet from the time of Hazrat Adam (AS) to the time of Hazrat Isa (AS) shall pray behind the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a show of acknowledging his superiority. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was instructed to lead the prayer at Masjid E Aqsa after arriving.
