Transliteration
Allahummar-hamni bil-Qur’ani, waj’alhu li imaman wa nuran wa hudan wa rahmah. Allahumma dhakkirni minhu ma nasitu, wa ‘allimni minhu ma jahiltu, warzuqni tilawatahu ana’al-layli wa atrafan-nahar, waj’alhu li hujjatan ya Rabbal-‘alamin.
English Translation
O Allah, have mercy on me through the Quran, and make it a guide, a light, a source of direction, and a mercy for me. O Allah, remind me of what I forget, teach me what I do not know, and grant me its recitation through the night and the ends of the day. Make it a proof in my favour, O Lord of the worlds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to finish the Quran in Ramadan?
No. You can finish it any time of year. Ramadan is popular because people recite more and feel closer to the Quran, but any month is welcome.
Can I make the dua in my own language?
Yes. Allah understands every language. Start with the Arabic if you can, then add personal prayers in English, Urdu, or whatever language helps your heart speak freely.
Can I do a khatam with family or in a group?
Yes. Gathering family or friends at the end of a khatm is a good practice, and Anas ibn Malik reportedly did this. Keep it simple and sincere.
Final Thoughts
Finishing the Quran is not the end of a journey. It is a checkpoint. You have spent days or weeks with the words of Allah, and that deserves a pause, a prayer, and a promise to return. Say the dua, thank Allah, and open the first page again.
