Dua healing is the practice of asking Allah, the only true Healer, to cure illness and ease pain. It is something Muslims turn to when a doctor visit is not enough, or when words are all we have. Many people feel helpless around a sick loved one. This guide shows what the Qur’an and Sunnah teach.
If you want to understand illness through an Islamic lens, try a book on illness, patience, and trust in Allah.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make dua for someone else who is sick?
Yes. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to pray for the sick when we visit them. Say it with sincerity and hope for them.
Do I need to use medicine too?
Yes. The Prophet ﷺ told us to seek treatment. Dua and medicine go together, and neither cancels the other.
Can I say it in my own language?
Yes. Allah understands every language. Recite the Arabic if you can, and also speak from your heart in your own words.
Can children say these duas?
Yes. The dua for the sick is short and easy. Teach them to say it softly when they visit a relative who is ill.
Conclusion
Illness is hard, but you are never alone in it. Allah hears every whisper, and He is the Healer. Keep the duas close, pair them with proper care, and stay patient. Begin today, for yourself or for someone you love.’
