What Is Surah Najm?
Surah Najm begins with a compelling oath: “By the star when it descends.” This opening sets the stage for discussing divine revelation and prophetic truth. The surah emphasizes that Allah’s guidance comes through appointed messengers, and rejection of this truth carries serious consequences.
The Historical Context of Surah Najm
Revelation during Mecca’s early period shaped this surah’s tone. Polytheists rejected the Prophet’s message relentlessly, demanding proofs and miracles. Allah’s response came through this chapter, affirming the reality of revelation and warning against stubborn denial.
