Importance of Allahumma Salli Ala Sayyidina Muhammadin Wa Ala Ali Sayyidina Muhammad

We will learn in this article Allahumma salli ala sayyidina muhammadin wa ala ali sayyidina Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is addressed by Allah in Surah Imran in Ayat 184: “Then when they reject you, [O Muhammad]—so were messengers before you, who came bringing clear evidences and written ordinance and the instructing Scripture.” All of Allah’s prophets deserve praise and greetings. It is one of the most moral things we can do, and hopefully it will elevate our status.

Darood Ibrahimi (Arabic)

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.

Transliteration

Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibraheem wa ‘ala aali Ibraheem innaka hameedun majeed. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad, kama barakta ‘ala Ibraheem wa ‘ala aali Ibraheem innaka hameedun majeed.

Urdu Translation

اے اللہ! محمد ﷺ اور آل محمد پر رحمت نازل فرما جیسے تو نے ابراہیم اور آل ابراہیم پر رحمت نازل فرمائی، بے شک تو سزاوار حمد اور بزرگی والا ہے، اور اے اللہ! محمد ﷺ اور آل محمد میں برکت عطا فرما جیسے تو نے ابراہیم اور آل ابراہیم میں برکت عطا فرمائی، بے شک تو حمد و عظمت والا ہے۔

Importance of sending Blessings to the Prophet

Indeed, Allah and His angels have blessed the Prophet [ask Him to do so]. “O you who have believed, ask Allah to bless him and grant him peace.” In Surah Ahzab ayat 56 Allah says,

We will keep up our support for Allah’s Messenger and keep sharing his teachings. The recitation of the allahumma salli ala sayyidina muhammadin wa ala ali sayyidina Muhammad dua is a demonstration of our devotion and commitment to this religion, and our support is demonstrated by our words and deeds.
